Evert Buurman (1958) is op Witbank in die destydse Oos-Transvaal van ́n Nederlandse vader
en Afrikaanse moeder gebore. Hy studeer aan die Universiteit van Pretoria waar hy die grade
BLC en LL.B behaal. Hy praktiseer vir etlike jare as prokureur in Pretoria voor hy na Kaapstad
verhuis en vandaar na Europa waar hy in Nederland, Slowakye en lank in Spanje woon. Hy
woon tans in Italië, waar hy as sogenaamde madre lingua, Engels by verskillende skole doseer.
Bo-en-behalwe Afrikaans en Engels praat hy Nederlands, Spaans, Frans (minder goed) en leer
tans Italiaans. Hy het een seun, Anthon de Wet, en ́n kleinseun, Jan-Anthon Beer, en hulle
woon saam met Jean-Mari in Nederland.

Evert Buurman (1958) was born in Witbank, in the then Eastern Transvaal, to a Dutch father
and an Afrikaans mother. He studied at the University of Pretoria, where he obtained the degrees BLC and LL.B.
He practiced as an attorney in Pretoria for several years before moving to Cape Town, and from there to Europe,
where he lived in the Netherlands, Slovakia, and for a long time in Spain. He currently lives in Italy, where he teaches
English as a so-called madre lingua at various schools. In addition to Afrikaans and English, he speaks Dutch and
Spanish, French (less well), and is currently learning Italian. He has one son, Anthon de Wet, and a grandson, Jan-
Anthon Beer, and they live together with Jean-Mari in the Netherlands.
